사랑의 철학

샘물은 강물과 하나 되고
강물은 다시 바다와 섞인다.

이 세상에 혼자인 것은 없다
만물이 원래 신성하고
하나의 영혼 속에서 섞이는데
내가 왜 당신과 하나 되지 못할까.

보라, 산이 높은 하늘과 입맞추고
파도가 서로 껴안는 것을
햇빛은 대지를 얼싸안고
달빛은 바다에 입맞춘다.

 
허나 이 달콤함이 무슨 소용이랴
그대가 내게 입 맞추지 않는다면.

See mountains kiss high heaven,

And the waves clasp one another;

 

No sister flower could be forgiven

If it disdained its brother;

And sunlight clasps the earth,

And the moonbeams kiss the sea;

 

What  all this kissings worth,

If thou kiss not me?
